Post Ramadan Habits
Before you start reading please keep in mind this is a reminder to all of us first. Keeping the good habits we've instilled in our daily lives this month is hard to keep post Ramadan. I pray that Allah swt inclines your heart to seek his guidance and not the desires and misguidance of this worldly life.
Abu Huraira narrates: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it, the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months; whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.
“The Prophet of Allah used to fast on Monday and Thursday. When he was asked about it, he said: The works of the servants (of Allah) are presented (to Allah) on Monday and Thursday.” [Sunan Abi Dawud]
2. Keep up with prayers(salah) and give charity often
Jabir (ra) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said; “The Qur’ān is an intercessor and it’s intercession is accepted and its plea is believed. Whoever makes it lead him, it leads him to Paradise and whomsoever places it behind him, (the result will be that) he is dragged to the Fire.”[21]
3. Make time for the Quran
4. Cut Away Music
Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله who said “Qur’an and Music cannot remain in the same heart except one expels the other.
5. Make Dua often
6. Pray Tahajjud
- Tahajud can solve all of your problems
- it's one of the best ways to attain closeness to Allah swt
- Seeking Allah swt forgiveness and being granted what you ask from Allah swt.
“The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness that I may forgive him?’” (Bukhari, Muslim)
I will leave you all with a dua and I hope this Ramadan helped you gain knowledge and guidance to seek Allah swt's love and forgiveness. May Allah protect us and forgive us for our shortcomings and increase us in knowledge of the deen.
O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and my worldly affairs. O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me. Sahih (Darussalam) – Sunan Ibn Majah 3871
